Teaching and Collaboration

Tong-Il Han
Dean, College of Music &
    Chair Professor of Music
University of Ulsan
Ulsan, Republic of Korea
Through the warm welcome and support of Payap University in Chiang Mai our festival’s artistic director, Tong-Il Han will offer two educational opportunities. The goal is to invite dedicated local piano students and teachers as well as those from the region and other countries to learn together in a series of public lessons given by Tong-Il Han.

Payap University is the oldest private university in Thailand and was the first in the Kingdom to offer a Bachelor of Music degree. Payap University has a growing and dynamic musical life and also is distinguished by its work in choral music.

These will be held at Payap University  (Mae Kao Campus - Multimedia Room)  on February 20 and 23, 2006.  Please call Payap University, Department of Music for details of time and attendance.   Contact numbers are given below.

We wish to thank most sincerely both of these institutions for their generosity and vision in regard to the Chiang Mai Music Festival at Ban Wangtan.  Both have recognized and supported the Festival's great potential as a major annual event gracing and nourishing this historic, beautiful, and dynamically growing region. Likewise, we hope such contributions will inspire and practically motivate both corporate as well as individual SPONSORS for our festival.
