Jung-Il Lee, leader
 

Violinist Jung-Il Lee studied at the Yewon School of Arts High School in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Upon graduation he accepted a full four year scholarship to Hanyang University from where in 1989 he received his Bachelor's Degree in Music. He furthered his study at the renowned Hochschule Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria and finished the Kleine Diplom and Grosses Diplom courses, there also receiving a Magister degree. In recognition of his outstanding achievements he graduated mit ausgezeichnetem Erfolg.

From an early age Jung-Il Lee's gifts and accomplishments have been recognized. He has been honored as the Grand Prize winner of the Junior Korea Times and the Incheon City Chamber Orchestra competitions. He also was Gold Medalist in the Yewon Competition, Second Prize winner in the Ehwa Kyunghyang Competetion, First Prize winner in the Busan Competition, and Third Prize winner in the Korea Daily Competition.

He performed with the Incheon City Chamber Orchestra when participating in the Yewon. Also he took part in the Jung Trio Music Camp and studied with Kyunghwa Jung. He was a member of the Seoul Chamber Orchestra from 1986 to 1988.

Jung-Il Lee's many recitals and concerts throughout various countries have included solo and chamber music performances such as solo recitals at the Salzburg Mozarteum in the Leopold Mozart Saal. From 1991 to 1997 he performed many times in the Wiener Saal and the Leopold Mozart Saal at the Mozarteum. He also was a member of the Salzburg Pro Musica Orchestra and Salzburg Kammer Orchestra. After returning to Korea, Jung-Il Lee has performed as soloist accompanied by the Shanghai Broadcast Orchestra in celebration of the Fifth Anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship between the Korean and Chinese governments. He has also performed with the Incheon City Chamber Orchestra, Korean Symphony Orchestra, and Seoul Baroque Ensemble. He has conducted the Korean Symphony and served as an invitational orchestra professor at Ulsan University.

Mr. Lee currently teaches at University of Ulsan and is a member of the Seoul Baroque Ensemble and the Harmonia Piano Trio.
